Re: Realistic or not?

Kelli, Kelli, Kelli, Kelli, Kelli, Kelli, Kelli, Kelli, K-E-L-L-I…
Yep, I remember the song well, Kell…
Your last post made me laugh out loud:  ‘…there must be many days you do not go outside because of the weather.’  HAHAHAHAHHAHA!!!
So far this winter we’ve had one, partial Condition 1 day.  Condition 1 means that the weather is so nasty outside (due to either the wind speed, wind chill, or visibility) that it’s dangerous outside.  Most times, however, our jobs require us to be outside.  Right now, we have two big construction projects going, and those guys are outside for nine hours a day.
Again, watch out for those preconceived notions of the place.  Ninety-nine percent of the time it’s either Condition 3, or Condition 2, outside.  If the course of your job requires you to go outside, you go.
And even in Condition 1, the SAR team will string up safety lines between the buildings so you can at least get to the Galley to eat.
You’re given all the ECW (extreme cold weather) gear you’ll need for any condition down here.  Of course, you have to give it back when you’re done, but that’s okay.  Big Red is too warm to wear anywhere but northern Minnesota, anyway.
Even on those rare days when Condition 1 is called, you’ll either be in your workcenter (where you’ll continue to work), or at home (where you can watch TV, and movies, or surf the net).  Boredom doesn’t happen often down here.  There’s always something to do somewhere…
Okay, Kelli – what’s the next notion I can shoot down for ya?  🙂
Oh, just finished up our Fourth of July party.  Had a great time up there.  Lots of game booths, and good food.  I stayed busy doing chair massages for folks.  Left before the live music started, though.
