It will be dark for a little while, but the dark night will disappear fast. You’ll want to go out at midnight right from the start if you want to see an aurora. What you will see are the nacreous clouds. That’s the joy of winfly.
They are super high altitude clouds that can only form in very cold weather. The sunlight refracts through them making rainbows of color across the sky. Also instead of well defined edges the clouds then to be swirly for lack of a better term. It makes the colors even nicer.
