KeymasterWell the 1st week has flown by, things have been great. i have my room all
settled into and have unpacked all my things.
The weather here has been something to make our plans around.. we have had
the 3rd flight of the season canceled 4 times already, i head out to the
airfield tomorrow to stand by while the flight unloads the cargo, as long as
the weather here holds out we should be good..It snowed a bit today, it was weird seeing that, just less than 10 days ago
i was in +90F weather back in allentown and now its -40F. Last week during a
blizzard we got to -101F! yeah that's cold… This was the coldest it got
last year when i was here so i hope it goes down again so i can claim fame
to an even ridiculously lower temperature..This morning was interesting, it was kind of snowy and icy out, there was a
bit of humidity in the air and made the sky look glassy… one of the neat
things i saw was the laser beam that they shoot out of the roof of the Crary
Lab, this is to measure the atmosphere, its a very high power laser that
sends pulses of beam out to make this measurement, that's all i know, the
rest is over my head.. But i somehow managed to get a really cool picture…
note the attachment…The sun has not shown it self yet.. we see twilight for about 4 hours a day,
then it gets dark, the stars come out… and the sky, if its not cloudy
looks awesome…We have some of sunsets, the sky's get all pink and red..
also note the attachment..Anyways that's it for today, I will try to send some pics tomorrow..
Take Care..
