Supposing I am lucky enough to find work at the Antarctic, will my age (66) restrict me from selection, if I am physically fit?

Bob, FYI one of the doctors at Pole last winter celebrated his 74th birthday in July. And I know that’s not the record for summer positions or the other stations. Lots of folks in their 50s and 60s… It does give you a few extra hoops to jump through when you get your medical exam however.

I agree. Lots of 60 year olds and many 70. I think the oldest I’ve seen is the low 80’s

So as I age, everything seems to be failing.
Does anyone know if there is any sort of hearing requirement to PQ?
Sadly, my left ear just turned off.

There’s probably some minimum requirement so that you can hear fire alarms and machinery. Other than that, simply having poor hearing will not necessarily exclude you.

There have been lots of people with hearing aids and I know of at least one that was deaf in one ear. I dont think hearing is on the PQ exam. Eyesight is though.

Sounds like me. One good one, one bad one. I can still see, but crazy how the medicine bottle people have lapsed in their quality control. The printing on those labels is always blurry these days.
