Does anyone know if there are any age restrictions for Raytheon employment down there? I can’t find anything on their website regarding this.

Don't believe so, we had a Communications Engineer in his 70's down to
    McMurdo
for several seasons. Last in summer 00-01.

    Hi chuck
mike here. Are you still at Palmer. I saw the winterover photo and noticed and Commander in it. They dismantled the IRLP link down here because of internet security concerns. Wish it was back. We enjoyed talking with the Boy and Girl scouts each week.

As to age restrictions. I think the only problem with age is passing the pq exam. If you read some of the posts on the discussion page you’ll see that you can flunk for almost anything that is out of line. Most healthy people will eventually pass, though. The problem with age is that there tends to be more things out of line.

On that note, there have been several late 60 and 70 year olds that have made it down here,  so if it appeals to you go ahead and apply.

Most of the jobs are filled for this year and you probably would be hard pressed to get the paperwork, interviews and pq’s done by october. Go ahead and try but the best route if you don’t get hired is to go to the job fair in March or April in Denver. Get names of the people doing the hiring and keep in touch. There are always last minute positions that get filled and if the hiring people already know you it’s easier to slip in.

Would Sharon be “Chief” Sharon. If so congratulations on the upgrade.
