Another suggestion for boondoggles: as a shuttle driver, I think it is almost as good as a boondoggle to drive out to the Ice Runway or Willy Field or the LDB facility ten times a day! The scenery is in constant motion with the clouds, visibility, wildlife, vehicles, and people! For those working inside all day, hop the shuttle and spend an hour at the airfield galley, look around, then catch another shuttle back. Refreshing!
I worked last New Year’s Eve. The common topic of conversation with the pax was, “Did you see those clouds? Six layers of lenticulars! Spectacular!
