Once you’ve PQ’d, you should get the info on insurance. Yes, they offer insurance, but you pay for it, employee’s share. Then you are eligible for COBRA for 18 months after leaving the Ice. For COBRA, you pay the whole amount.

Medical coverage is tricky. For the most part everything that happens on the ice is workmans comp and covered under wc insurance. IE broken bones etc.
Insurance is available, you pay the premium. Several plans. I go with the catastrophic coverage. 5000 dollar deductable and 80/20 after that. It’s the cheapest and I can cover the deductable.You’ll be flown to NZ for major problems. Medical bills are much cheaper there than in the us.
