Is high pressure a show stopper? No underlying issues just controled hypertension. Where can I find more information specificially about HBP in the medical?

Snowman, – if it is controlled by your medication – it is NOT a problem.

My cholesterol was extremely high – and I had not been on medication.  Once I started it – and dropped my numbers. (Their rule book was NO ONE over 300 and I was 308.)

If you have high BP  and are not taking Medication – I’d get going – so when you take the actual physical – your reading will be fine!

Here’s a sample of the medical screening guidelines:

It’s pretty old and I’m not sure if anything has changed, but this may give you an idea of whether you’re likely to have any problems.

If controllable, you should  be fine. The PQ process will dictate what extra tests you might need. Do them and if your blood pressure drops with medication and everything else is fine, you should pass. Just let the program doctors have their way with you. If you do fail, there is a waiver process. You need lots of time to get through the waiver.
