Howdy from Bill Erhardt (Alernate Driver this season).
Great view on the Web Cam and would like to know the approximate time the Ice Breaker and Supply ship is due in McMurdo. I will watch the web camera from here in Montana.  Looks like the camera will cover the arrival…
    Thanks  Bill Erhardt K7MT

various things will affect when the ships actually come in but figure the last week of January or first week of February should get you in the ballpark of when they’ll be in

Unless things have changed alot since I was last there the icebreaker should show up at the fast ice edge by early January.  That would be the Swedish icebreaker ODEN.  She should be working the turning basin in front of McMurdo by mid-January.  The annual MSC fuel tanker should arrive the latter part of January and be at the ice wharf about a week.  In early February the dry cargo vessel, currently the AMERICAN TERN should arrive at the wharf.  Off load and on load should be completed in about eight days, if the weather plays nice.  By mid-February the ships should be well north, unless a cruise ship makes a late call to Ross Island and they do not use the ice wharf.  Should have a good view of passing vessels from the current position of the web cam.
    Been There
