    Hello-

Congrats to all the people who have gotten contracts for 2007-2008. I am hoping to soon join your ranks. I found out a few weeks ago that I was going to be offered an alternate shuttle driving contract as well as an alternate GA contract. I have yet to hear anything from HR, which doesn’t seem all that unusual from reading other postings. Question though, who decides which alternate contract I’ll actually be offered or will I get offered both and then I get to choose? Also does HR tend to call primary people first to see if they accept the contract and then call the alternates- to save themselves from having to call an alternate twice if one of the primaries doesn’t accept?

Thanks again for your help, I attribute my two potential offers to the advice I read/received from you all.

The primary gets first shot. They will be sent an offer letter. If they sign it, they will then be responsible for the Medical, Dental and Drug screen procedures. If they pass they will be sent tickets and will get the job. At any point along the way, problems can jump up. First of all they may decline the original offer, next they may flunk one of the PQ or drug exams. Finally, they may wait until the week before flying down and drop out.
As an Alternate you should sign the offer letter and get PQ’d medically as if you were a primary. Then you wait. If for any reason the primary drops out, the alternates are next in line for the job.

I don’t know the procedure for more than one alternate position. I didn’t think you could get two, but I guess I am wrong.
