New to the boards

Hi All,

I wish I had found these boards sooner, there’s a lot of good information here!

I just wanted to introduce myself as (yet another) person looking to get down to McMurdo. I have a question regarding the rayjobs site though, I read on here that the new jobs appear at the beginning of March, but a lot of the jobs show postings of December. If I applied at the beginning of April, is it way to late? Are they just unattended jobs sitting on the jobsearch page but in reality are closed?

Jobs are posted to the internal site first accessible to current raytheon employees. Then in march they are posted to the public ray jobs site. Hope this reconciles the dates for you.

Ahhhh, that makes more sense. It seemed weird that everyone was excited about March, but in reality the page showed December! 😀

It’s never too late.

Are they just unattended jobs sitting on the jobsearch page but in reality are closed?

there’s no single answer to that question. If there is a job posted that you might be qualified for and you’re interested in, apply for it. Even if it has been filled, RPSC does designate alternates for many positions. Several people have accepted alternate offers that turned into a primary.
