Pet Peeve #126: Polarized Wall Plugs

remember the days when ac plugs werenʹt polarized, i.e., have a “fat” side and a “skinny” sideʔ you could plug the things in any old way and it would work.now they only go in one way. if you canʹt see the orientation of the socket and plug, there should still be a 50-50 chance of blindly getting it right. but nooooooo. itʹs always backwards. they are the work of the devil….there, i feel better now.g

i donʹt mind polarized plugs until the only way they fit is when they are in the way of another plug. you canʹt turn them around. m

yeah, thatʹs often the problem with those “wall wart” type power supplies for electronic gadgets. with a polarized plug, you often have to completely rewire everything because the wall wart wonʹt fit in the required orientation.grrrr.
