    Good morning everyone,

The past few days has been very cold and windy, so it has been an indoor
kind of days.. Yesterday we spent a good part of the day in the firehouse
and today i stayed in most of the day. I ran home after getting out of work
at 8AM and i took a quick shower, After my shower i was feeling a bit hungry
and wanted to run back over to the Galley (Dining Hall) for some breakfast..
well i got dressed and ran out heading over.. by the time i got there, the
little moisture that was on my hair after the shower had frozen to my
forehead! It had the same effect as the worst ice cream headache you could
think of.. Not fun.. but something to write home about..

This afternoon i want for a walk over to the Crary Lab, this is the largest
science lab in Antarctica.. In the last tier of the lab they have an
Aquarium. Since the divers have been out deep sea diving i figured i would
take a few pictures of the strange sea life we have here in the Antarctic..

Ok you have seen star fish and sea urchins i am sure, but take a look at
this “Spider Fish” what the heck is that? i have never seen anything like
that before. its very creepy to see them crawl on the bottom of the tank,
they are as large as 1 sq foot! Anyone ever see these before?

I was hoping for some large fish, Regularly they bring back Antarctic Cod,
they weigh in at 200 or so pounds. and have very sharp teeth. All i found
today was smaller “Bullhead” fish, they are 12 to 14 inches in length. They
are bottom feeders and they tend to hang on the side of the tank or on
    something in the tank..

One of the last pictures is of the entire aquarium section, there are
several 500 gal tanks, some smaller ones..its a nice facility..

Over the winter, when the tanks aren't used they usually make hot tubs out
    of them! That's being creative..

Only a few more days till summer starts and its a warm -83F today!!

Bringing you the finest Sushi in Antarctica,
