water treatment position

Hi Yall,
 
I was wondering what kind of chance I had to get the water treatment position.  I am willing to go year round with reasonable breaks.  What kind of competition do I have?
 
I have been surfing all of the McMurdo sites, read all of the orientation packets and I am almost packed.  that isn’t too hard though, cause i live in Fairbanks AK.
