KeymasterSeveral years ago, a movie writer got in touch with us here. He was writing the script for a movie tentatively to be called whiteout. The last I heard from him was back in 2004 when he had heart surgery.
Glenn and I both had a lot of fun with it, correcting minor details. He wanted to fly to Vostok in mid winter with a C-130. Glenn pointed out the hydraulics would freeze.
It’s going to be interesting to see whether our input helped.
I’ve written the scriptwriter to see if he is still around. We’ll see what happens.

KeymasterHI name was Alex, and I kept in touch with him for more than a year afterwards. He ended up going to Barrow, Alaska to get a feel for icy, snowy conditions. Uh-huh. A short time later he finished that screenplay and started on another, a horror pic which I haven’t seen out yet — dunno if it was ever produced. He sent me a rough draft of the script (shhh!). Very fun.

ModeratorHe probably did the movie ‘Thirty Days of Night’, a vampire flick set in Barrow…

MemberI have been thinking for some time that there should be a movie about life at McMurdo Station. Not anything like the Hertzog film. More along the lines of MASH. Better yet “The Three Stooges Go South for Vacation”. Atlas has a lock on the role of Curly, Mike could be Larry, and not sure who would be Moe?

MemberHey we are talking about a low budget production here. No money for hair stylists…..so the part is made for you Atllas
Looks like Glenn is speaking up for the part of Moe.

MemberHello Mike. Long time no hear. I know. And I know this is not along this topic. But just wanted to say Hi and let you in on some news I just received and see what your opinion was. I received an email from Anthony Dixon from HireRite. I had to fill out an application online that took about an hour. Does it sound like I might be moving on up to the next step toward being hired?

KeymasterKurt Russell needs to be in any good Ice movie. And flame throwers, lots of flame throwers. I’m already disappointed. 😉
Coincidentally, I wrote to Alexander a few days ago for other reasons. I think I have a good email address for him but he hasn’t answered back yet. I notice his name isn’t listed as one of the screenwriters; he mentioned that someone else took over the writing.
